History

Golden Gate Grave Groomers was founded by Lester and Kathy Thornsberry in 2010. Lester and Kathy provided their caring and professional services to the cemeteries of Colma, CA for over 8 years. Upon their retirement and relocation in 2019, they passed on Golden Gate Grave Groomers to Meltem Gikas, who is honored to continue the tradition established by Lester and Kathy.

Meltem Gikas

Meltem Gikas is originally from Turkey, and has resided in Pacifica, CA since 2012. Meltem studied restoration in university and has over 30 years of art restoration experience, including stone, metal, wood and painting restoration. Meltem had her own restoration company in Istanbul, Turkey for several years, where she developed many restoration techniques while managing her building, painting, stone, metal, and wood restoration projects.

Most of our services are performed on-site. We utilize a combination of “old-world” techniques and “high-tech” products to achieve our amazing results. You can rely on us to make appropriate recommendations to fit your memorial’s needs and your budget.
